Austria is officially known as the Republic of Austria, Austria is a landlocked East Alpine country in the southern part of Central Europe.

Austria is a parliamentary representative democracy and Composes of nine federated states, The capital and largest city is Vienna with a population exceeding 1.8 million.

Austria occupies an area of 83,879 km2 and has a population of nearly 9 million people. While Austrian German is the country’s official language, many Austrians communicate informally in a variety of Bavarian dialects.

Austria was a prefecture of Bavaria created in 976. The word “Austria” is a Latinisation of the German name and was first recorded in the 12th century.

Austria’s highest point is Grossglockner mountain, with a height of 3,798 m.

Austria’s 1955 State Treaty declared the country “permanently neutral” as a condition of Soviet military withdrawal.
