Birmingham Botanical Gardens

The Birmingham Botanical Gardens located in Edgbaston, Birmingham, the garden is 15 acres, Designed by J.C. Loudon in 1829, who was a leading garden planner, it was opened to the public on the 11th of June 1832.

The Botanical Garden is open every day expect Christmas day and Boxing day, located only a mile and a half from Birmingham city centre, it’s one of the best attractions to visit

Since the design of the original Botanical Gardens by J.C. Loudon the layout has hardly changed, Within the area you can find four glasshouses, which have exotic tropical glasshouse, the Subtropical, Mediterranean and Arid houses, four unique glasshouses you can visit.

You can also find a large open area that you can relax on and crab a chair to enjoy the views and you can also enjoy a picnic, even occasional weddings happen in this area.

Within the Botanical Gardens, there’s a Japanese Garden which houses the National Bonsai Collection.

You can find a collection of roses, alpines, perennials, uncommon timber and shrubs and events such as flower shows, family funday’s and open air theatre with music.

The Library: The Library has an in depth range of horticultural literature

The Gallery: The Gallery houses exhibitions of artwork, particularly via local artists. work of every fashion and medium is exhibited, most of it being for sale.

Tea Rooms: situated within the Gardens, the tea room is open each day serving morning coffee, mild lunches and afternoon tea.

The Summer House: Is something new the Botanical Gardens added, It’s only available during the summer, it offers ice creams, biscuits and drinks.

Gardens Indoor Store: Open the identical hours as the Gardens. An attractive variety of items, stationery, garden necessities and both indoor and outside plants.

Free parking for visitors is available, you can also find parking around the area.

Baby changing facilities are available

Wheelchair access all round the gardens, Free loan of three manual wheelchairs and three electric mobility scooters.
