The Museo Arqueológico Municipal de Jerez de la Frontera was established in 1963 from the Municipal Archaeological Collection, two centuries later in 1982 the excavations of the Municipal Archeology Service were added expanding the Museum collection. It’s now one of the most important Museums in Jerez however the Museum first opened in 1935.

The Museum has eleven rooms committed to the Paleography of Jerez and Archaeological selection, which explains the evolution of Human settlements in the region from the Paleolithic to the Middle Ages and display of numismatic selection from the Antiquity to the 19th century.

Collection Includes: 

  • A Corinthian Helmet, which is very rare in Spain, it was found by the city’s Charterhouse next to the river Guadalete.
  • Roman Ceramics
  • The numismatic collection
  • Late Medieval World
  • Islamic Collection
  • Manganese

  • The nearest train station is the Jerez de La Frontera Train Station,  1.2 miles away, it will take 27 minutes to walk there by foot and 13 minutes by car/taxi.
  • The Wine Museum is only 10 minutes away by foot and The Jerez Cathedral is only 8 minutes away by foot.
